Soccer Booster Club Board Meeting Minutes
September 4th, 2007

Officer’s present:  Melissa Zahirniak, Kevin Shelton, Traci Lee
Booster Club Membership Present: Coach King, Coach Walker, Paul Wood, Cheryl Wood, Teri Tomme, Jill Sargent, Ginny Ciriot

Call to order: 7:09pm

Motion made for Teri Tomme to be the Booster Club Treasurer, seconded, and carried.

Old business:

Awards Board:  We can not find the key to the award board to start working on it.
Banners:  The banners have arrived and can be hung after the gym repairs are complete.
Golf Tournament: The deposit for the tournament needs to be paid one week prior to the tournament date.  Right now we have 5 or 6 teams, and it would be good to try and make it to 10 teams.  There will be a shotgun start at 1:30pm, and we can sell Mulligan's for $10 each.  We need some more donations for prizes, like restaurant gift certificates, a putter, sleeves of golf balls.  We still need to get the trophies for the winning teams.  Our fee is $37.50 for each golfer and that will include a boxed lunch.  A few of the soccer players will need to be on site to help out.  Last year we made $1,258.

New business:

Meeting Place, dates, and times:  We can get the Library meeting room on first Tuesday of every month until January, and then we can go back to having the meetings on Monday nights.
Budget:  We need the coaches budget needs so we can get the items ordered before the season starts.  Some of the items needed are new game goals($2,500), new covar goals($500), the girls need new away jersey's($1,800).  The girls jersey's will need to be ordered right away so they are here in time for January.
Website Review: Mark Sargent does the girls website and Traci Lee does the boys website.  Everyone agrees we can leave it that way it.
Fundraisers: We will get the soccer camp started earlier this year so that we make sure we have all the administration approval in time to get participation from kids.  We will pick the dates for the camp at the next meeting.  We will do the spaghetti dinner again as the membership drive.  We can find out if the Epp's would have some concessions for the Manditory parent meeting at the start of the season.  It will be held on Nov. 6th.
Concession Stand for 2008: Everyone is in agreement that we use the Epp's again if they are willing to run the concession stand.
 

Financial Report: We have $3,127.05 in the account right now.  We need to get the signature cards changed over to the new officers.  We can get a free checking account in Crowley when we are switching.

Coaches Report:  Coach Walker is working on the schedule, there are many different requests from the other schools so it is taking longer this year.  The girls will do the Crowley tournament  Jan. 10th through 12th and they will do Waxahachie Jan. 17th through 19th.  The boys will do the Aledo Tournament Jan. 10th through 12th and the Crowley Tournament the 17th through 19th.  We need to make a tournament committee to help raise money during the back to back weekends.  Ginny has a company that can make banners if we can get sponsors for the tournaments.  We need to get t-shirts to sell.  We will talk to the Epp's about running the concession stand.

We need to do a highlight dvd to run at the school to help get the kids out to our games.  We will check with Blake Beck to see if he could help us put it together.
